HNA Group Announces Updates To Management Structure
Announces Additional Leadership and Operational Updates as Company
Further Aligns Around Its Core Aviation Businesses
HAIKOU, China – November 11, 2019 – HNA Group today announced that it has appointed Xiaofeng (Daniel) Chen as President of HNA Group, effectively immediately. Mr. Chen will also continue to serve as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of HNA Group North America and a member of HNA Group’s Board of Directors. The Company has eliminated his previous position of Vice CEO of HNA Group.
Daniel Chen replaces Zhang Ling, who stepped down as President, but will continue to serve as Vice Chairman of HNA Group’s Board of Directors. As President of HNA Group, Mr. Chen will oversee international operations and continue to work alongside Chairman Chen Feng, CEO Adam Tan and the Board of Directors to rationalize the business portfolio, reduce debt and improve the Company’s financial position. Mr. Chen, who joined HNA Group in 2012, has held a number of senior management positions across HNA Group’s business units, including within aviation, logistics, and asset management.
In addition, the Company announced that He Jiafu, who is a member of the Board of Directors, has been elected to the additional position of Senior Vice President of HNA Group, where he will assist Daniel Chen in optimizing HNA Group’s daily operations and improving the overall performance of the Company’s assets.
Increase Focus on Core Aviation Businesses
HNA Group also made several other updates to its leadership and organization structure consistent with its progress in streamlining the Group’s strategy around its core aviation businesses.
HNA Group is now operating as a single Aviation industry group, comprised of its airline assets, as well as three individual business units: Aviation Leasing, Airport, and Non-Aviation Asset Management. All of the divisions that were under HNA Capital, HNA Technology and HNA Logistics have been transferred into one of these three business units.
